What’s In The Box
- bitbox Radio
- 915MHz RP-SMA antenna, manufactured by TE Connectivity
Cable Connections and Physical Interface
bitbox has three external ports and one internal expansion port:
- Ethernet – 1Gbps link speed
- USB-C – USB-PD Power In/Out, 1Gbps Ethernet communication
- 2 Pin 0B Lemo – Power input (11-36VDC), polarity agnostic
- Internal Expansion – for hackers, please see this article.
bitbox has one mode selector switch and a pairing button:
- Mode Switch
Base Mode (BASE) – One radio must always be in base mode. Our recommendation is that this be your control surface or another device which is constantly powered.
Remote Mode (REM) – Used for client devices such as cameras, additional control surfaces, etc.
- Pairing Button – Pairing instructions are available here. The pairing button can also be used to perform a factory reset.
bitbox has four lights on the side:
- Amber LED – The Amber LED indicates that the radio is powered on.
- Status LEDs – Please see this article for more information about the status LEDs.
Network Configuration
No network configuration is necessary on individual bitboxes at this time. All configuration is done on client devices.
For more information about network configurations, please see these articles:
Integrating bitbox Into an Existing Network
bitbox is plug-and-play with existing networks. Integrating it is as simple as plugging the base radio into a switch and your remote bitbox radio clients will be available on the network when online.
Think of bitbox as a long ethernet cable without a wire.
Pairing
